 Dr. Schilit's global research organization, Center for Financial Research & Analysis ("CFRA") alerts institutional investors and others of companies with deteriorating operational cash flows, aggressive accounting policies, and inadequate control environments. Dr. Schilit frequently lectures on the subject of financial shenanigans to investors, bankers, lawyers, and insurers. A featured article in Business Week referred to him as the "Sherlock Holmes of Accounting." Smart Money magazine has selected Schilit as one of the “Power 30” of investing in both 2002 and 2003. A former professor of accounting at American University, Schilit earned his Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Maryland. CFRA is based in Rockville, Maryland with offices in London, Boston and Chicago.
