Laurie S. Goodman

Speaker:

Laurie is a Senior Managing Director at Amherst Securities Group, L.P., where she is responsible for strategy and business development. Laurie joined the firm in December, 2008, assembled the Strategy Team and began publication of the Amherst Mortgage Insight.  From July 1993-Nov 2008, Laurie was head of Global Fixed Income Research and Manager of U.S. Securitized Products Research at UBS and predecessor firms. The UBS Securitized Products Research group was widely recognized for its insightful analysis and weekly Mortgage Strategist publication.  Prior to that, Laurie spent 10 years in senior fixed income research positions at Citicorp, Goldman Sachs, and Merrill Lynch.  She was also a mortgage portfolio manager on the buy side and a Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Timothy W. Hayes

Speaker:

Timothy W. Hayes, CMT, is NDRG’s Chief Global Investment Strategist. He has been with the firm since 1986. Tim directs NDRG’s global asset allocation services, develops strategy and major investment themes, and establishes NDRG’s weightings for global asset allocation, presenting his views on the cyclical and secular outlook globally.

Tim oversees NDRG’s monthly Investment Strategy, covering global strategy and allocation, and his timely market commentaries and studies are featured in Chart of the Day publications. He also writes Stock Market Focus, which features top-down stock market perspective, and Global Focus, which focuses on global allocation and the most significant global developments.

Tom Gallagher

A Principal of The Scowcroft Group, Tom Gallagher provides strategic advice to the Group’s clients, specializing in US monetary, fiscal, and currency policies and analyzing G20 economic policies in general.

Mr. Gallagher was the top vote-getter in the Washington Research category on the Institutional Investor’s All-Star Team from 2001-2010.  He also sits on the Global Investment Committee of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, the largest private wealth manager in the world, and serves as the Vice Chairman for CEBM, a Shanghai-based Chinese economic research firm.  He is also on the faculty of the Georgetown University’s Public Policy Institute as an assistant adjunct professor.

Richard Cripps

Richard E. Cripps is the Chief Investment Officer of EquityCompass Strategies, a wholly-owned subsidiary Registered Investment Advisor of Stifel Financial (SF –NYSE). EquityCompass provides research and investment advisory services to Stifel’s Private Client and institutional investors. As of 2012 yearend, EquityCompass managed $1.2 billion in assets.

Mr. Cripps joined Stifel Financial through the acquisition of Legg Mason’s Capital Markets Group from Citigroup in December 2005. Mr. Cripps directed the Portfolio Strategy Group of Stifel Nicolaus Equity Research prior to his current role where he also served as a senior member of the investment committee with responsibilities for equity market analysis and portfolio strategy.

Adam Sieminski

Speaker:

Adam Sieminski was sworn in on June 4, 2012 as the eighth Administrator of the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). EIA is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating independent and impartial energy information to promote sound policy-making, efficient markets, and public understanding of energy and its interaction with the economy and the environment. EIA provides a wide range of information and data products covering energy production, stocks, demand, imports, exports,
and prices. EIA also prepares analyses and special reports on topics of current interest.

From March 2012 to May 2012, while awaiting confirmation as EIA Administrator, Mr. Sieminski served as a senior director on the staff of the National Security Council. From 2005 until March 2012, he was the Chief Energy Economist for Deutsche Bank, working with the Bank’s global commodities research and trading units. Drawing on extensive industry, government, and academic sources, Mr. Sieminski forecasted energy market trends and wrote on a variety of topics involving energy economics, climate change, geopolitics, and commodity prices.

Dan Fuss

Dan Fuss has 53 years of experience in the investment management industry and has been with Loomis, Sayles & Company since 1976. He is vice chairman of the firm and manages the firm’s flagship Loomis Sayles Bond Fund—which won the 2009 Morningstar Fund Manager of the Year award in the fixed income category—in addition to the Loomis Sayles Investment Grade Bond, Investment Grade Fixed Income, Strategic Income, Fixed Income, Institutional High Income and Global Markets funds. In 2000, he was named to the Fixed Income Analysts Society’s Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions and lifetime achievements in the advancement of the analysis of fixed income securities and portfolios.

John Silvia

John Silvia is a managing director and the chief economist for Wells Fargo. Based in Charlotte, N.C., he has held his position since he joined Wachovia in 2002 as the company’s chief economist.

Prior to his current position, John worked on Capitol Hill as senior economist for the U.S. Senate Joint Economic Committee and chief economist for the U.S. Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee. Before that, he was chief economist of Kemper Funds and managing director of Scudder Kemper Investments, Inc. John was awarded a National Association of Business Economics (NABE) Fellow Certificate of Recognition in 2011 for outstanding contributions to the Business Economics Profession and Leadership Among Business Economists to the Nation. In 2010, he was recognized for the Best Overall Forecast, Best Inflation Forecast, and Best Personal Consumption Expenditures Forecast by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. John is on the Bloomberg Best Forecast list for his forecasts of GDP, the Institute of Supply Management (ISM) manufacturing index, housing starts, and the unemployment rate
